£53m raid: police search farm

Detectives investigating Britain’s biggest cash robbery were today searching a farm in Kent.

Around a dozen police vehicles had parked outside the sprawling property in Staplehurst, and uniformed officers could be seen at work.

Kent Police initially refused to confirm that they were searching the farm, or whether it was thought to be the place where the Securitas depot manager was held hostage after being kidnapped.

The move comes as officers continue to question four men in connection with the raid in Tonbridge last week, which netted more than £53m (€78m).

Police have been carrying out road checks today at key sites across the county which have been linked to the audacious robbery.

They have also released photographs of a Volvo similar to the one used by two bogus policeman to kidnap depot manager Colin Dixon last Tuesday evening on the A249 near Stockbury, and a silver Nissan Almera similar to the one driven by Mr Dixon that night.
