At least three killed in school bus accident
A school bus collided with a truck in northern Germany today, killing at least three people and injuring a dozen others.
The truck slid on snow-covered roads into oncoming traffic at about 8am local time (7am Irish time) and collided with the bus, killing three people, said Dieter Fischer, a police spokesman in nearby Coppenbruegge, south of Hanover.
It was not immediately clear whether those killed were school children.
In addition to the dead, two people were seriously injured and another 10 were slightly injured in the accident, Hameln police spokesman Heinz Mikus told n-tv television.
Mikus said the road conditions became quite bad after a heavy snow began in the morning.
