Violence has erupted in Sydney for a second night in a row, as youths battered cars and smashed store windows, police said.

A police spokesman said the rampage broke out in Cronulla, the same beachside suburb where a night of race riots resulted in scores of arrests Sunday, and neighbouring Carringbah.
