Berlusconi hints at threats to him
Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi, who said recently he had been the target of a suicide terror plot, hinted at continuing threats today, saying his bodyguards were nervous because “they always risk blowing up with me”.
The comments were made after a photographer was pushed by a bodyguard at a motorcycle show in Milan, the Italian news agencies ANSA and Apcom reported.
“I apologise on their behalf,” Berlusconi was quoted as saying.
“You should know that my bodyguards always risk blowing up with me.”
He added: “We are all a little shaken by the latest threats we have received.”
Earlier this month, Berlusconi said in an interview with Italian newspaper Libero that he was the object of terror threat, “a suicide bomber in the stadium against me”.
