Indian monsoon death toll rises
Health workers and volunteers today distributed food, medicines and drinking water in south-eastern India where monsoon rains have killed 74 people over the last three days.
Flood waters were receding in many parts of Andhra Pradesh state, but more than 122,000 people were still in relief camps after torrential rains and a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal hit India’s south-eastern coast flooding thousands of villages and towns.
