'Take-away' suicide bomber kills 15

A suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden car outside a take-away restaurant in the middle of a market in Iraq’s southern city of Basra tonight, killing at least 15 people and wounding 10, police said.

The falafel restaurant was located in the centre of the Hayaniyah district market, a Shiite section of the city, Lt Col Karim al-Zaidi said.

Two police vehicles were destroyed in the blast.
