An Italian aid worker kidnapped in Afghanistan last month has been released, according to a TV report.

The Foreign Ministry in Rome said it could not immediately confirm the report by RAI state-run TV.

Clementina Cantoni, 32, was abducted by armed men on May 16 as she was being driven to her home in the Afghan capital, Kabul.
