Japan and China to hold talks
Japan and China will hold two days of talks on their troubled bilateral relations and regional issues, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said today.
The talks, starting tomorrow, will take place in Beijing, and the Japanese delegation will be led by Foreign Ministry under-secretary Shotaro Taniguchi, the ministry said in a statement.
Tokyo-Beijing ties have been rocked by violent anti-Japan protests in China and deep disagreements over territorial issues, sea resources and interpretations of Japan’s militarist past.
Both countries, however, have moved to smooth over relations in recent weeks.
