Rene Brun, head of Charles de Gaulle airport, said the two undamaged halls of terminal 2E will soon reopen now that safety inspectors have given the green light.

“Today we received a favourable opinion from the safety committee,” he said.

Separate judicial and technical investigations are continuing into the May 23 collapse of the terminal’s departure hall, less than a year after the building opened.

Falling glass, steel and masonry killed four travellers and injured three others.

A preliminary report released last month suggested that poor quality concrete could have been partly to blame for the disaster.
