Ammunition fire causes Kufa mosque blasts

Explosions rocked a compound surrounding the mosque in Kufa, one of Iraq’s holy cities, today.

Ammunition used by fighters loyal to rebel cleric Muqtada al-Sadr had apparently caught fire, witnesses said.

Flames and smoke rose above the weapons dump.
