Militants kill US marine

One US Marine was killed in an overnight attack on American forces in southern Afghanistan, the military said today.

A second Marine was wounded by fire from enemy militants south of Tirin Kot, 250 miles south-west of the capital, Kabul, in Uruzgan province, said military spokesman Lt. Col. Tucker Mansager.
