Saudi Arabian police killed a wanted militant in shoot-out today in a suburb of the capital, Riyadh.
Security officials said police patrolling the Roda suburb fired at a car that refused to their order to stop.
They said police fired at two “wanted militants” who were in the car, killing one. The second is currently surrounded by police officers, who cordoned the area off.
Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, has been on high alert since terrorists carried out several attacks aimed at destabilising the US-allied kingdom, home to Islam’s two holiest shrines.
