Pilgrims trampled to death at hajj stoning ritual

An unknown number of pilgrims were trampled to death today during a stoning ritual at the annual hajj, the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca.

The deaths were reported by the Saudi Interior Ministry, according to the state-run Saudi Press Agency.
