British soldiers shot dead Iraqi protestor

British soldiers deployed in Iraq today shot dead a protester and wounded another after violence erupted at a demonstration, the British Ministry of Defence said.

Troops opened fire on one man as he was about to throw a grenade at a British Army vehicle during a protest about the lack of jobs in the south-eastern city of Al Amarah.
