Two cable cars climbing to a hill top Himalayan tourist resort plunged to the ground in northeastern India today after a support cable snapped, killing four people and injuring 11, a news report said.

The condition of the people injured in the accident in Darjeeling was serious, the Press Trust of India quoted the area’s police chief, Sanjay Chander, as saying.
