Woman dies after having legs cut off

An Indian woman has bled to death after thugs cut off her legs to steal two silver anklets she was wearing.

Police said Manphooli Devi was alone in her house at Nagal in Jaipur when she was attacked.

The 70-year-old woman was discovered lying in a pool of blood the following morning by her relatives.

It is reported she died on the way to hospital due to excessive bleeding, reports the United News of India.

A police spokesman said: "The search for the thieves is on."
