A Hercules military transport plane crashed in a residential area outside the Algerian capital today and there were “numerous casualties” said state radio.

The crash occurred near the Boufarik military airport, 25 miles west of Algiers.

The Moroccan news agency MAP said the crash killed several people on the ground.
