Concern grows in UK over missing girls

Concern is growing for two teenage girls who have been missing from their homes for several days, UK police said today.

Katrina Johnson, 14, was last seen by her mother on Tuesday morning when she left her home in Bramble Court, Park Way, West Moors, Dorset, to go to Ferndown Upper School.

April Pestell, also 14, of Ford Lane, Tricketts Cross, Ferndown, who is a pupil at the same school, was last seen in Ferndown at lunchtime on Wednesday.

Pc Julie Wooliscroft of Ferndown police said it was possible that the girls were together and “highly likely” they were staying with friends.

“The girls are vulnerable because of their ages and so it’s vitally important we find them.

“Both girls have had minor disagreements at home, and I’m sure their families want to put this behind them for any news that their daughters are safe and well.

“It’s for this reason we need to speak with the girls, and so I’m appealing to Katrina and April to please contact the police straight away and put everyone’s mind at rest.”

It is thought the girls are still in east Dorset, possibly in the Tricketts Cross area.

Police have made inquiries in Somerford, Christchurch and in Bournemouth.

Katrina is described as white, five feet four inches tall, slim, with blue eyes and dark brown shoulder length wavy her. Her nickname is Kat.

April is white, five feet eight inches tall, slim, with green eyes and very long straight hair. Her nickname is Apes.
