An explosion at a department store injured at least five people in the German city of Wiesbaden today.

An explosion at a department store injured at least five people in the German city of Wiesbaden today.

The blast occurred near a lift on the second floor of the Karstadt store during the afternoon shopping rush before the Easter holidays.

Fire department spokesman Juergen Schroemges said eight people were injured.

Police said the cause of the blast was not immediately known.
