Eighteen people were taken to hospital with respiratory problems today after inhaling an unspecified gas in a supermarket in the Czech Republic.

Eighteen people were taken to hospital with respiratory problems today after inhaling an unspecified gas in a supermarket in the Czech Republic.

Most of them were staff who were overcome as the gas spread in one part of the Globus supermarket on the outskirts of Olomouc, 155 miles east of Prague.
