Six killed in peacekeeping force helicopter crash
An international peacekeeping force helicopter crashed near Kabul airport today, killing four peacekeepers and two civilians on the ground, Kabul Police Chief Bashir Salangi said.
Salangi said the peacekeepers were believed to be Germans.
"We have information that four peacekeepers on the helicopter were killed and two civilians," Salangi said.
The two civilians killed were children, the police chief said.
In Germany, the Defence Ministry said the helicopter, a Sikorsky CH-53, belonged to the German military.
