Afghanistan’s Defence Ministry denied an assertion by the top US intelligence official that only 30% of the country is under the control of President Hamid Karzai’s government.

An international peacekeeping force helicopter crashed near Kabul airport today, killing four peacekeepers and two civilians on the ground, Kabul Police Chief Bashir Salangi said.
