Blair: 'Irresponsible' to free Camp X-Ray prisoners

It would be irresponsible to release prisoners being held at a US military base in Cuba if they have information that could help prevent further terrorist attacks, Prime Minister Tony Blair indicated today.

Mr Blair said he understood concerns over the status of the prisoners, including seven British citizens, held at Camp X-Ray at Guantanamo Bay since being captured during military action against al Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan over a year ago.
