Six people dead, 60 missing after landslide
A landslide triggered by heavy rains has killed at least six people and left at least 60 missing in a remote region of northern Colombia.
The landslide destroyed crops, houses and everything it found in its path, according to the mayor of a town near the communities in the San Lucas mountains where the landslide occurred.
At least 60 people are missing, a local municipal employee told Caracol TV.
The Red Cross is planning to send a team to the region using boats and cars.
"This area is a conflict zone," said Walter Cote, director of national aid for the Red Cross in Colombia. "We have to be very careful."
