Edwina Currie gives first TV interview since affair revelations

Edwina Currie is to give her first TV interview since she revealed her four-year affair with John Major.

The former Tory MP met Sir Trevor McDonald in London today to record the special programme.

It will air on ITV1 tonight at 10.30pm.

McDonald said after the interview: "She was very forthright about the affair with John Major, and she constantly talked about it as a love affair and she had no regrets about it.

"She defended very strongly why she decided to do it and now after all this time. She didn't want to bring the government down and wants to clear the air."
