Serena's father warns alleged stalker 'I'd kill you'

Serena Williams’s father today warned he would kill the man accused of stalking the tennis ace if anything happened to her.

Albert Stromeyer, 34, was arrested on Friday after a policemen allegedly spotted him staring at the athlete as she practised during the US Open in New York

Serena’s father, Richard Williams, told the New York Daily News: “A Williams is the most precious commodity to a Williams. A Williams would die for a Williams.

“Would anything stop me from killing this guy if he did something to one of my daughters? I do not think all the police officers in the world could stop me.”

Stromeyer, a German college student, is being held on two stalking charges.

He is alleged to have followed the tennis player around the globe and occasionally shouted “I love you” at her in English and German.

Top seeded Williams yesterday advanced into the US Open quarter-finals after beating Daja Bedanova of the Czech Republic in straight sets.
