Hussein may only be playing for time

By playing for time, Iraq may be attempting to make it harder for Washington to make the case for a military invasion.

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s government has invited the chief UN weapons inspector, Hans Blix, to visit Baghdad for technical talks but UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan is pressing Iraq to see where the invitation will lead.
