Israeli troops foil alleged car bomb in West Bank
The Israeli army has said today that it intercepted a car bomb in the West Bank. The vehicle was carrying gas canisters and explosives and the army said they believe the bomb was destined for an attack on Israel.
The car was stopped on a road near the northwestern town of Qalqilya, which links the West Bank with Israel, the army stated.
The army had relaxed a curfew on the town of Qalqilya the previous day.
The news follows revelations from Defence Minister, Binyamin Ben Eliezer yesterday that Israeli troops had intercepted three car bombs and made 15 arrests of would-be Palestinian suicide bombers since the army reoccupied most of the West Bank three days ago.
