Tension rises after South Korean ship sunk

A North Korean warship sank a South Korean patrol boat in the Yellow Sea today, killing at least 4 sailors and wounding 19 in the worst border clash in recent years on the world’s last Cold War frontier.

The South accused the North of violating the armistice that ended the Korean War, but a defiant North said the South shot first.
