Police seek World Cup imposter
Police in South Korea have launched an investigation after a man posing as a British journalist was given World Cup press accreditation.
They say the man is believed to be of Middle Eastern descent. A spokesman said he left for Japan on May 20 on a bogus passport and Korean authorities are working with Japanese officials to track him down.
He said the man was given the press accreditation card at the World Cup Main Registration Centre in Seoul on May 16.
The Korea Herald reports it was meant for a Sunday Mirror reporter. Officials reported the matter to police four days later when the reporter visited the centre to collect his press card.
