British soldiers shoot two gunmen in Afghanistan
British soldiers have apparently killed two gunmen during a gunfight in south-eastern Afghanistan.
The British Government said the soldiers came under attack from three gunmen at a covert observation post near the city of Khost.
The attackers apparently pulled up to the post in a car and fired around 10 rounds before the British troops returned fire, hitting two people.
A second vehicle then pulled up and grabbed the two men who were shot, while the third gunman fled in the first car.
No British soldiers were injured.
