Both crewmen rescued from jet crash
The two crewmen of an RAF Tornado which smashed into a river in England have been picked up by rescue teams.
The RAF Tornado crashed into a river in East Yorkshire in England shortly after making a mayday call.
RAF spokesman Michael Mulford said: "Some time before 3pm there was a mayday. We know the pilot and navigator have ejected and have come down, we think in the water.
Mr Mulford said the flight was almost certainly a training flight.
The RAF Rescue Centre at Kinloss said both airmen had been picked up and they were on their way to Lincoln Hospital.
Three helicopters - from RAF Leconfield, RAF Wattisham and the Humberside Police helicopter - together with lifeboats assisted in the rescue.
The condition of both airmen is not yet known although one is fully conscious.
It's believed the plane was from RAF Marham in Norfolk.
