Arafat to call elections within six months

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat has decided to hold presidential and parliamentary elections with six months, according to the secretary general of the Palestinian Cabinet.

Ahmed Abdel Rahman also revealed that Mr Arafat has called a meeting of the Central Elections Committee within the next two days to discuss the vote.
