However, although the Bethlehem crisis appeared to be winding down, another threatened, as Israel’s leadership authorised retaliation against unspecified ‘‘terrorist targets’’ after a Palestinian suicide bomber blew up a pool hall near Tel Aviv on Tuesday, killing 15 Israelis.
