Heathrow gang steals $6.5m

A gang of thieves stole around $6.5m after holding up a security van in Heathrow Airport in Britain today.

The money, which was taken from a British Airways van, had just arrived in the airport from Bahrain and was en route to New York.

The robbery took place at around 6.30am, when two men attacked the driver of the van, tied him up and transferred the money into another BA van. They then escaped posing as BA workers.

Their getaway vehicle was found burned out a short distance away. There was no trace of the money.
