Baby Volcano born in Goma
A baby boy born in Goma has been named Volcano.
It follows a massive eruption which sent the Congolese city's 500,000 resident fleeing for their lives.
The boy's mother Muhima Mungo says it is the only possible name she could pick for her boy after the events of the last few days.
"It's the only name that's right for him," she said.
Muhima gave birth on Monday as the city's hospital was still being shaken by earth tremors.
But Volcano faces an uncertain future like the rest of his family and Goma's residents.
"Our neighbourhood was destroyed by the lava and our house was burnt," said Muhima, who has eight other children.
Her husband is still looking for two of their children who disappeared in the chaos after the volcano erupted and lava swept the city.
Aid agencies are now helping locals to clear-up and rebuild the city.
Meanwhile, earth tremors and heavy seasonal rains today added to the misery of the tens of thousands of residents who have been forced to sleep in the open.
