Pakistan freezes accounts of nuclear scientists

Pakistan's government has frozen the accounts of two nuclear scientists suspected of links with Osama bin Laden.

A central bank spokesman says the accounts belong to Sultan Bashir-ud-Din Mehmood and Abdul Majid, who used to work for Pakistan's Atomic Energy Commission.

The bank has also frozen the accounts of wealthy industrialist Mohammed Tufail.

The three men were on the board of directors of an Islamic charity declared a terrorist group by the US.

George W Bush ordered the group's assets to be frozen along with those of the three Pakistani men.
