Pakistan denies bin Laden reports
Pakistani government spokesman General Rashid Qureshi denied there was any proof Osama bin Laden was in his country, as some senior Afghan politicians have suggested.
He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: ‘‘These rumours have been going about for the last few weeks. Even the United States don’t know where Osama bin Laden is. They say he could be in Afghanistan or he could be elsewhere, in any other country.
‘‘Why do they concentrate on Pakistan? Pakistan has tried to arrest and has arrested all non-Afghans or even Afghans who cross the border.
‘‘If the Afghan government has some information as to his location, they must share it with us.’’
