Shoe bomber suspect refused bail

Alleged shoe bomber Richard Reid has been remanded in custody during a preliminary court appearance in the United States.

The Londoner, was denied bail while the FBI continued to investigate allegations that he tried to blow up a plane from Paris to Miami using explosives hidden in his trainers.
