Afghan leaders divided about peace force

The future of the British-led multinational security force in Afghanistan was unclear today as Afghan leaders were divided about how long it should remain in the war-ravaged nation.

The country’s new premier, Hamid Karzai, said the force was welcome to stay for as long as it takes to restore order.
