Asylum seekers at a remote Australian detention centre held violent protests again last night, damaging five more buildings after rioters set fire to 15 structures earlier this week.

A man arrested in India has confessed to planning suicide attacks in Britain, Australia’s foreign minister said today.

The Australian military was today expected to begin transferring 438 asylum seekers from a cargo vessel off a remote Indian Ocean outpost to a troop ship that will then depart for Papua New Guinea.
