US peace envoy leaves Israel

Palestinian leader, Yassar Arafat has closed 13 offices of the militant Hamas group and the Islamic jihad in the Gaza strip and Ramallah.

The move comes as the United States withdrew its peace envoy to Israel amid escalating violence in the region.

Meanwhile Palestinians are angry with the US decision to veto a United Nation's motion calling for condemnation of all acts of terror in the Middle East.

US ambassador to the UN, John Negroponte said he had no choice but to use the veto.
