Famous Hawaiian beach closed after sharks spotted

Hawaii's famous Waikiki Beach has been closed after three sharks were spotted less than 100 yards from the shore.

Hundreds of tourists lined the beach as a 7-foot shark was tracked about 75 yards off shore. Two other sharks were also spotted.

Honeymooners Glynis and Stacey Caldwell, from Dallas, were in the water at the time but Mrs Caldwell said she would not be going back in.

"I can enjoy the sand, that's about it. As far as going out, I won't be doing any of that," she said.

The beach was expected to remain closed through the night it was reported.
