Australian lawyer patents wheel

An Australian lawyer has patented the wheel.

Melbourne lawyer John Keogh took out the patent to prove a new patent system introduced by the Government is flawed.

Mr Keogh said the system had removed the need for a patent lawyer after complaints that it was too expensive, but it was now possible to patent anything.

"The patent office would be required to issue a patent for anything," he said. "All they're doing is putting a rubber stamp on it."
