Great Train Robber back in Britain
Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs touched down in the UK today after 35 years on the run.
The private jet carrying Biggs back from Brazil arrived at RAF Northolt in north west London just after 8.45am.
Police were expected to arrest Biggs immediately and after formalities were completed, return him to jail.
He left sweltering Rio de Janeiro, his home for most of his time on the run, last night amid chaotic scenes as reporters and photographers sought to get a glimpse of one of the world’s most famous fugitives.
The jet which flew the frail 71-year-old the 6,000 miles back to justice was chartered by The Sun newspaper, which today has a front page headline Got Him.
