Geldof: 'Tiger Lily must not forget her real parents'
Bob Geldof has spoken of his fears that his adopted daughter Tiger Lily will forget her real parents, Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence.
The star, who took the youngster in after her mother was found dead of a heroin overdose last September, said he is making great efforts to ensure the memory of her parents does not fade.
In December, the Official Solicitor confirmed that Tiger Lily should spend the rest of her childhood with Geldof and her three half-sisters.
Her father, INXS singer Hutchence, was found hanged in a hotel room in Sydney in November 1997.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, Geldof explained how he tried to be open with all the children about the deaths of Hutchence and Yates.
He said he was determined that Tiger Lily would remember her parents: "I have the records, photos, videos and all that stuff for her."
The former Boomtown Rats star also spoke affectionately of his children's attitude to his musical talents.
He said he was in a shop once with the four girls when one of his songs came on the radio.
"The kids were of course horrified, 'You're rubbish Dad etc.' The usual.
"The next song coincidentally was Michael's. Tiger was listening intently. At the end she said, 'My real dad's a better singer than you, Dad'," he said.
