Internet twins returned to America

The twin girls at the centre of the Internet adoption row have been returned to the United States.

Sisters Belinda and Kimberley were flown to St Louis, Missouri, from Manchester airport on Wednesday accompanied by three social workers.

A Flintshire County Council spokesman said the twins were last night placed with foster parents pending a decision on their future by the Missouri Court.

‘‘Flintshire County Council took the children into its care on January 18 and their safety and welfare have been our paramount concern throughout.

‘‘On behalf of Flintshire County Council, the foster parents in Flintshire and indeed the people of Flintshire, I would like to now wish these two little girls our very best wishes for the future,’’ said chief executive Philip McGreevy.
