Fifteen family menbers burnt to death

Fifteen members of a family were burnt to death when the bus they were travelling in caught fire whilst driving through central India, domestic news agencies reported today.

The accident occurred on Thursday when a lamp swinging inside the packed bus leaked and burst into flames, engulfing the entire vehicle, the Press Trust of India said.

Seven people were seriously injured in the accident.

The victims were going to a wedding party.

Most of the men in the bus jumped out from an emergency exit but several women and children trapped inside were among the dead, local police said.
