Four dead after storm pummels Argentina
A powerful storm lashed eastern Argentina with heavy winds and rain, leaving four people dead.
The storm hit the province of Buenos Aires, triggering floods and demolishing homes.
Three children, all in separate homes, were killed when roofs collapsed. Lightning killed a man in the town of Carlos Tejedor, 100 miles south of the capital city.
More than 200 people were injured and thousands of others had to be evacuated because of flooding. Electricity was cut off for a few hours.
Several towns suffered heavy damage from the winds, including the town of Guernica, 20 miles south of Buenos Aires.
Town mayor Oscar Rodriguez said: "Half of Guernica was destroyed."
The heavy winds also toppled trees across a wide region, interrupting rail and highway traffic.
The city of Buenos Aires was spared from the brunt of the storm and reported no victims and no significant damage.
