QUIRKY WORLD ... Bud Weisser refuses to leave St Louis Budweiser brewery
Police apprehended the 19-year-old St Louis man when he entered a secure area at the brewery and refused to leave, the St Louis Police Department said.
Weisser was issued summonses for trespassing and resisting arrest and authorities continue to investigate the incident.
Weisser pleaded guilty to burglary in July and his sentence was suspended, online court records showed.
Changing heads
Authorities say a 27-year-old man wanted for failing to signal a lane change ran from Tulsa police and stopped to get a haircut before being arrested.
The Tulsa World reports the man was arrested on several complaints, including eluding police after a felony conviction and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction.
Police say they saw the man’s car cross several lanes of traffic and a police officer tried to pull him over. They say after a pursuit, the man got out of his car and ran to an apartment complex. Police later found the man inside an apartment.
Officers noted the man “sported a freshly clipped head with extremely short hair” despite reportedly having a “large amount of hair” when running from his car.
Lost in New Jersey
Authorities in New Jersey say a motorist who repeatedly told police she was “looking for New Jersey” has been charged with drunken driving.
Port Authority police say officers approached Karol Andino, 31, at around 2.30am after the North Bergen woman stopped her car near the Holland Tunnel entrance in Jersey City and got out of her vehicle.
When she told them she was “looking for New Jersey”, the officers told her that’s where she was. But Andino continued to say she was “looking for New Jersey”, and she was charged a short time later.
Piquing interest
Fashionista Alexa Chung’s haircuts, actor Tom Hardy’s sartorial style, and the humble pork pie are among the top items to have piqued British online interest in 2015, according to Pinterest.
By the end of December more than 1bn people in the UK will have “pinned” something to the creative ideas website this year, from new recipes to suggestions for DIY projects and ideas for holiday destinations.
Mad Max and Legend actor Tom Hardy was one of the top fashion pins of 2015.
DIY disasters
Homeowners are spending millions of pounds a year to salvage DIY “disasters”.
Home improvement blunders include painting, installing kitchen cabinets or garden landscaping, said the Federation of Master Builders.
A survey of almost 2,000 householders found that one in five admitted home improvement projects had been a disaster.
Almost a third had called in tradespeople to fix or finish a job, costing an extra £871 (€1,201), it was estimated.
Named and shamed
A suspect had his first name stencilled on a sweatshirt he wore while breaking into a taxi company where he used to work, police said.
Joshua Jording, 26, of Latrobe, western Pennsylvania, faces a preliminary hearing on burglary, theft, and related charges after the break-in at Veterans Cab Co in Unity Township.
State police security video showed the suspect wearing a shirt with the name Josh on it. They searched his home and found that shirt, as well as two guns and two smartphones taken during the burglary.
